Local Law 87

Understand Your Building’s Energy Performance with Local Law 87

As part of the Greener, Greater Buildings Plan, also known as GGBP, Local Law 87 requires buildings over 50,000 square feet to have periodic energy audits with retro-commissioning measures. Building owners need to complete an Energy Efficiency Report, or EER, and have it approved every 10 years. Local Law 87 is in addition to the annual benchmarking reports that are required yearly, according to Local Law 84.

The objective behind NYC LL87 is to ensure buildings in the city are staying up-to-date and aren’t falling into neglect.

WHAT INFORMATION IS NEEDED FOR LL87’S REPORT?

The EER for Local Law 87 looks for the six following items:

  1. Basic team information
  2. General building information
  3. Existing equipment inventory
  4. Energy end use breakdown
  5. Energy conservation measures identified from the audit
  6. Retro-commissioning measures

HOW CAN ENERGO HELP?

Energo can recommend an engineer from a network we are currently working with, or we can work with any engineer currently retained to complete a LL87 audit.

Energo can also assist and complete all retro-commissioning measures identified by the engineer that are needed to complete and file the EER.
